DIY Coconut Oil Hair Mask

As if coconuts could give us any more reasons to love them! Coconut oil hair masks have become extremely popular recently. They have the ability to leave your strands shiny, whilst repairing your hair from all of the summertime aggressions, such as salt water and chlorine. And another plus, coconut oil is really good for your tresses due to antioxidants and its antibacterial/anti-fungal nature.   Coconut Oil... stimulates hair growth, as it can get deep into your hair follicles. promotes scalp health, fighting against problems such as insect bites, and dandruff. helps moisturise dry hair. adds, shine and softness to the hair. prevents hair breakage and split ends, contributing to quicker, healthier hair growth slows down hair loss. There are countless different combinations you can use to make coconut oil hair masks, but we say, the simpler the better! Coconut and avocado are both high in natural fats, making it the most perfect combo for naturally moisturised hair.


  • Bowl
  • Spoon


  • 2 Tbs organic coconut oil, melted
  • 1 Tbs avocado oil


  • Add the coconut oil and the avocado oil to a bowl, and mix together well.
  • Coat and apply evenly to partially damp or dry hair and leave on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing out with warm water.
  • Shampoo and condition your hair as you would normally. If you have oily hair, it is recommend to give your hair an extra shampoo, just to make sure you get everything out so it isn’t left feeling too oily or greasy.
